Esperance Ocean Safety and Support is a not-for-profit organisation focused on protecting ocean users in the water from Great White Sharks in form of education, training, experience, technology and research.
In 2020, the group sought to build their capacity through the creation of a formalised membership structure and concurrently develop a first aid trauma kit that would provide ocean users with improved resources to respond to shark attacks and improve the confidence of water users.
Mt Burdett Foundation was able to provide funding focused on improving ocean safety education and training, with the purchase of 75 trauma kits that were supported by an online tutorial in responding to trauma incidents, launched alongside Esperance Ocean Safety's membership drive.
